Gallaudet Video Presents Crab Theory. The conflict between a student who uses ASL as her primary language and a professor who cannot sign very well. Insults were traded between the professor, Dr. Miller and Doraleen. Dr. Miller decided to flunk Doraleen even though she did well on her paper. Doraleen then went to see Dr. Ruth to explain about her situation with Dr. Miller. Dr. Ruth criticized Doraleen based on her facial expression and signing by saying it is vicious and very strong. Dr. Ruth went on to mock ASL as a caveman language not using English grammar with ASL. When they went to Deaf festival, they come to realize that ASL and Deaf Culture are beautiful part of being a Deaf person.
